Dr. Jon Baumann - DDS - Dentist

Dr. Baumann was raised in Omaha, NE. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln followed by the University Of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Upon graduation, he moved to Yankton to begin his practice.

He also serves on several boards including the University of South Dakota Dental Hygiene advisory committee, is a delegate for the South Dakota Dental Association, and is a long-time volunteer of the South Dakota Donated Dental program.

During the years Dr. Baumann has spent practicing dentistry he says he has most enjoyed getting to know his patients and their families. When he isn’t helping patients he enjoys spending time with his wife, Michelle and their two daughters Annie and Ellie. He enjoys being active and you can often find him running, working in his yard, walking his dogs around the park, or spending time at the lake.

Rose - RDH, BS

Rose grew up on a farm outside of Irene, SD and received her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of South Dakota. In 2008, she began working for Dr. Baumann as a hygienist and assistant.  What she enjoys most about her job is the patient relationships and that it allows her to provide oral care and education to our patients.  Also, assisting Dr. Baumann brings versatility to each day which she feels has helped her to become a very knowledgeable dental professional.  In her free time, she enjoys music and cheering on the Twins, Packers, and Huskers with her husband, Brandon, or spending time with her children Emma, Nathan, and Dawson.

Kayleen - RDH, AS

Kayleen was raised west of Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School. She then attended Lake Area Tech and received her degree in Dental Assisting. After a few years, Kayleen continued on to the University of South Dakota where she received her degree in Dental Hygiene in 1990. Kayleen has been working with Dr. Baumann for many years and says she appreciates being able to help patients with their oral health and see their progress following treatment. She and her husband Kelly have four children, Angela, Jacob, Valerie, and Sabrina. She stays busy volunteering whether it’s for the school or the church and enjoys using her artistic talents whenever possible.

Katie - RDH, AS

Katie grew up in Elk Point, SD and attended Elk Point Jefferson High School followed by the University of South Dakota where she received her Dental Hygiene degree in 2001. Katie began working for Dr. Baumann following graduation and she and her husband, Bob, moved to Yankton in 2002. As a people person, Katie says what she most enjoys is getting to know her patients, helping them feel comfortable and at ease with their dental experience. Katie and Bob have two children, Mackenzie and Alex. In her free time you will find Katie spending quality time with her family, riding horses, and proudly watching Mackenzie show horses in 4-H or competing in gymnastics.

Jackie - RDH, BS

Jackie grew up near Randolph, NE and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2009 from the University of South Dakota. While attending USD Jackie also worked part time as a manager at Hy-Vee in Yankton, which is where she met her husband Matt.  In 2009 she joined our team and stays busy assisting Dr. Baumann, seeing hygiene patients, and occasionally working at the front desk.  Jackie thoroughly enjoys being involved in different aspects of the patients’ treatment and feels that this interaction has allowed her to become a more knowledgeable hygienist. Her favorite part is seeing patients become more confident when something they disliked about their teeth has been corrected. When Jackie is not at the office she enjoys spending time with her husband Matt and their two busy boys. She enjoys being active and is usually doing something outside whether it is mowing, painting, gardening, reading, skiing, or playing with her kids.
